Hi

Long time since i have written something, just haven’t felt like it, for various different reasons.

Hi

A lot has happened in my life since i last posted something. My ex-gf was dishonourable and cheated on me. I have been in hospital because of my eczema. And my depression has gone downwards.

Also Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat has been released.

It has been very busy and confusing and complicated.

And i have a new mobile phone, a Htc Dream.

Have Fun.

I am very pleased and alittle dissappointed all at the same  time.

I still cant use the ATA stack on any of my machines, so i have to use the old IDE stack.

Thats my only real complaint, otherwise R1A2 is pretty much perfect really.

I will write more later, when ihave more time.

I found out a few interesting things last night, and a few things i didn’t really want to know,

These things gave me  some very interesting insight into certain people,

Quick and blunt,

Endof;

hi

Lucid beta came out, slightly delayed a few days ago, and i feel like writing abit more about it,

The boot time has improved a little again, no end of boot delay, unlike when i last wrote. I also like the new boot screen, its very simple, but nice to look at. Boot time on my eeepc 900 ssd, is around 30secs now from grub to login, not bad at all.

gnome-shell from, i think its ricotz’s ppa, is working great, a few issues in places, like the battery icon partly dissappearing under the button in the top right, for example, but nothing major.

The new theming in lucid will take some getting used to, having a purple background in terminal, definatly feels a little hippy to my eye.

Overall i am very happy, things are moving long really well,

Also best to mention if there is any interest in  a Banbury Lucid Release party, so please get hold of me, and tell me, if you like the idea. and have a look at the lucid release party page on the ubuntu wiki, so i know if there is any interest, Thanks,

:)

I put lucid (ubuntu 10.04) on my eeepc last night. mostly it has gone ok,

But I noticed some weird behaviour, when boot finishes and it tries to load the login screen, it shows me a black screen with my mouse cursor, and seems to take a long time to load the login screen, i am not sure what to think of it to be honest, its just weird. I need to do some research.

Also when i first login after boot, it just sends me straight back to login screen, and logs me in properly the second time.

Suggestions welcome.

I just watched BBC Click, it was pretty good, i noticed on a part of the program called webscape. To a Stephen Fry interview (netmag.co.uk/fry), unfortunatly it requires silverlight, so i promptly installed moonlight, fired up FF again, fail, still claims i dont have silverlight nor moonlight, so i gave up.

Today had been a great morning, met up with friends had lunch and a beer, I was in a great mood. It couldn’t have been better.

Then i got home and got stress, because i fear dentists, and wont go.

Explain that. FFSS.

It is shitty, and i hate it, because pushing the issue is making it worse, and i just dont want to fucking talk about it.

I dont need any stress like this, i am depressed already, and this is just not helping.

It sucks balls.
